Chrisley’s lawyer said Lindsie has contacted law enforcement and will provide them with what they need for their investigation into her family’s actions.
The Chrisley family’s legal woes look far from over.
Lindsie, who is estranged from her family, alleged her brother and father threatened to publish the tape if she did not lie about an “incident,” according to the outlets.
In a statement given to USA TODAY from Allan Mayer, Todd fired back at his daughter’s accusations.
“It’s heartbreaking and shameful that these kinds of accusations have to be aired in public,” he said in his statement. “We have tried to keep Lindsie’s extramarital relationships private for her sake since August of 2016. Sadly, for reasons we can only guess at, she ran to the sheriff’s office and then to the press to accuse her brother of buying a sex tape of her, which was a complete lie, and now she’s telling more lies about me. Although our hearts are broken, Lindsie is our daughter and we will always love her.”
Chase also sounded off on the accusations levied by his sister in a statement also given to USA TODAY by Mayer.
“I love my sister and I don’t understand why she’s doing this to our family,” he said. “I am heartbroken over these false allegations by my sister — and they are totally false — and so are my parents and the rest of our family.”
Lindsie’s lawyer Musa Ghanayem condemned her family members in a statement given to USA TODAY.
“Lindsie would like nothing more than to be left alone and go about her own business,” Ghanayem wrote in his statement to USA TODAY. “Unfortunately, certain members of her family will not let her live in peace. We are flabbergasted at the audacity of Todd and Chase Chrisley, who are more focused on attacking my client rather than defending themselves against the allegations of criminal conduct.”
He continued:“While it is not necessary to detail their repugnant actions, it is important to note that the allegations are of serious crimes against Lindsie. Lindsie has made a complaint of their acts to law enforcement, and she will provide them whatever they need in the course of their investigation into her family’s actions. Lindsie prays for a just outcome so that she can go forward with her life safe from those who are looking to do her harm.”
The police report came to light days after Todd and Julie Chrisley pleaded not guilty to tax evasion and other fraud charges. The lawyers for the “Chrisley Knows Best” stars said the charges stemmed from false allegations made by a former employee.
The 12-count indictment issued against Todd and Julie also includes charges of wire fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud and conspiracy to defraud the United States, U.S. Attorney Byung J. “BJay” Pak said at a news conference.
