Black Friday in its most pure and literal and innocent form is the day after Thanksgiving (this year, Friday, November 29), when a lot of things — both online and off — go on sale. But something strange has happened to Black Friday in recent years. No longer is it merely a day or a week or even a few weeks: The first Black Friday sales we spotted popped up in mid-October at Walmart, and after that … they just kept coming.
By the time November 29 rolls around, there will be hundreds more: Black Friday TV deals, Black Friday Amazon deals, Black Friday kitchen deals, and Black Friday mattress deals will be well underway. Can’t keep track of everything? Who could blame you? It’s insanity. That is where the Strategist comes in: We will be covering Black Friday sales across the site, but bookmark this page as your Black Friday HQ. It’s where we’ll be rounding up all the sales — and the specific deals — worth paying attention to. And if you want an even “tighter edit,” as they say, you can see our list of Strategist-approved items on sale here.
On the morning of November 1, as Starburst wrappers and red feather boas still littered the streets, Amazon unveiled its Happy Holideals page. Most recently, it released a preview of what will be on sale for Black Friday. In the meantime, we rounded up the best Amazon Black Friday deals so far, and there are real some goodies to be had.

The minimalist furniture start-up Floyd began its Black Friday sale already.
There are so many mattresses on sale we devoted an entire post to them. Right now, the Allswell (below) is one of the better deals.
A lot of stuff is already on sale over at Macy’s (we rounded up the best of the sale here), including a $200 Dyson, a $40 toaster oven–slash–air fryer, and a $40 cashmere turtleneck sweater.

The only time Snowe (known for its crisp white sheets and dinnerware) has a sale is during Black Friday/Cyber Monday. As we recently noted, the entire site is on sale right now, and here’s how it works: You can save $15 if you spend over $100, $50 if you spend over $250, $100 if you spend over $500, and $250 if you spend over $1,000. Augustinus Bader, the secret to “rich-person skin,” which is never on sale, is a little bit cheaper than usual.

Nearly everything at athleisure emporium Bandier is 25 percent off. (The discount is applied at checkout). Good deals include: these classic Monrow sweatpants, this leopard-print puffer, this Nike sports bra, and the Dagne Dover gym bag (one of our favorites) below.

We recently wrote about the Shopbop sale, and here’s the takeaway: You can take 15 percent off orders of more than $200, 20 percent off orders of more than $500, and 25 percent off orders of more than $700. One way to meet the minimum is to bundle together a bunch of products — like this trio of Baggu totes, some classic Levi’s, and a soft Eberjey PJ set. Or, you could just splurge on something nice and expensive, like the options below.
Woolrich W’s Arctic Faux-Fur Parka
Frye Melissa Chelsea Boots
Same deal at East Dane as its sister site Shopbop. The already on-sale Barbour jacket and the classic Filson tote below are particularly good deals.

Everything at Bonobos is 30 percent off. We quite like this (machine-washable) merino wool sweater.

At the moment, a select batch of leggings from Outdoor Voices are 25 percent off with the code LEGGINGS25. This applies to leggings that are already on sale — so we suggest grabbing those up before they are gone.
